

Open win32 Disk Imager and write the image file from the “LennyBruce0.4.2” folder. Build your Chromium OS for Raspberry Pi 3B/3B+/4B and Pi400 Hi, as you can see and test, there is support for VP9 codec in Chromium OS build for raspberry.

This program simply allows you to write image files to a storage device. After that, you will have to download (link below) another program, win32 Disk Imager. Then extract it, either using Winrar or 7zip (link below).

To install Chromium OS you will need format the SD card by using SD card formatter (official product of SD Association, link below).After that, you will also need to download the “LennyBruce0.4.2” folder (link below). As this version of Chromium OS is shared between two models of The Raspberry Pi (Pi2&3) which have different processing speed the speed is set to 1Ghz however the Raspberry Pi 3 can process at a speed of 1.2Ghz, the OS will have to be clocked up if it runs on Raspberry Pi 3. Therefore it's necessary to install Keep Awake extension and always set it to Sunny Mode. No support for OS sleep, or it'd result in a non-recoverable state.

To do this may be hard to complete for people who don’t know much Linux commands etc. Known issues Only supports Raspberry Pi 4B & Pi 400 - images for the Raspberry Pi 3 series are released separately. There are not many problems with the operating system, however, there is some configuration to do to make the Raspberry Pi run fast and smooth as it can on the Raspberry Pi 3. Chromium OS is an easy operating system (based on Chrome OS) which runs on the Raspberry Pi and soon it will run on other single board computers. It is very smooth to run and has no problem streaming HD Youtube videos.
